To provide mechanical engineering students with practical knowledge and design skills in the field of jigs and fixtures used in manufacturing and assembly operations. This internship focuses on creating cost effective,
efficient, and production ready fixture solutions that enhance machining accuracy and productivity
To equip mechanical engineering students with knowledge and hands on skills in designing jigs and fixtures used for machining, assembly, welding, and inspection operations in manufacturing industries.
Skill Sets :
Fundamentals of Jigs and Fixtures.
Classification.
Principles of Location, Clamping, and Support.
Fixture Design Guidelines and Standards.
Material Selection and Manufacturing Considerations.
2D Drafting & 3D Modeling of Fixtures.
GD & T and Tolerance Stack up Analysis.
Design Documentation and BOM Preparation.
Outcomes:
Proficiency in designing industry ready fixture systems.
Ability to apply design principles to real world manufacturing setups.
Completion of a project involving the design of a functional fixture.
Enhanced understanding of productivity and quality improvements through fixturing.
Certification:
